The top picture is looking down from street level. You go down about 5 floors to get to the back yard. You can see the Mississippi River, a park, the train track, then the back yard close to the building. The mini golf and Native American medicinal herb garden are farther away to the right while the maze is easier to see on the left. The point of the maze is to show the natural prarie plants- including the fast growing switch grasses that many researchers are investigating as a replacement to corn to produce biofuels. Unlike corn, switch grasses are don't have to replant from seed every year and harvesting switch grass doesn't impact the food supply.
