Pictures of the crowd.

First picture is the view of the Capitol dome from where I was standing using the camera zoom.  Second, Constitution Ave direction with Smithsonian Natural History museum in the background.  Third, view of my jumbotron.  Fourth, sort of a cross crowd toward the back 14th/ Independence Ave corner.  I think the building is the Dept of Agriculture- Vilsack's new crib.

This was my first Inauguration so I don't have any measure to judge this crowd, but it seemed ENDLESS!   And tall.  But as you can see- lots of outerwear.  Hats, gloves, earwarmers, hoods, scarves, layers on layers.  We all decided that it wasn't that cold- except for our fingers and toes.  Note to self- wear mittens not gloves!  And put in the toe warmers before you leave home.  I was worried my toes would be too crowded for all that walking with the two pair of socks so I waited to put them in.  I thought could quickly pop in the toe warmers when I needed them.  NOT!   It was so crowded that once you were in place you couldn't move.  You couldn't go to the bathroom, couldn't get food and when one guy dropped his camera it took about 5 of us contorting to give him enough room to bend down to get it!

It was amazing to see the crowds..it looked shoulder to shoulder for miles & miles. Sounds like it was. I am sure you are very happy to have been there.
