One of my regrets was that when we went to the museum yesterday it closed at 5. That left several hours before the lights turned on so we didn't get to see the new buildings at their best. Today on the way back from Independence, we stopped for dinner and at Target to run errands. I decided to take a drive back into town to see if the lights were on. We were not disappointed. The Bloch addition is made of two layered walls with an independent light source in between the layers. The exterior is made of a frosted wall that allows the light to glow outward, illuminating the building. It is a fantastic additon to the sculpture gardens.

Wow, it is beautful. I am glad you went to Target.
How creative is that! Love ya, Mom
is there a reflcetion pool around the museum.
In the ""back" entrance of the museum they have a large square shallow reflecting pool with submerged lights. At night it reflects the illuminated buildings. Very cool, and a nice way to integrate the new buildings with the "old" section.
